If you haven’t already heard about UberEATS, here’s what you need to know. It’s a new food-delivery platform from the geniuses behind ride-sharing service Uber that allows users to order food from their favourite local restaurants and cafes and have it delivered directly to their door by an Uber courier. Let’s put this into perspective for you. You know that feeling when you crave something specific and you just can’t rest until you have it? We get that a lot. Sometimes, it’s a Nonna Maria souva from Jimmy Grants, or say the Katsu Sando and a caramel choux bomb pastry from BamBam Bakehouse, or even an eye fillet and frites from Harry’s Steak Bistro & Bar.
Despite the cravings, there are times when you just can’t leave the house, the office, or your prime spot on the beach. All you have to do is download the UberEATS app and you’ll be able to get your favourite food delivered straight to your door, or wherever you may be, seven days a week from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. The service, which officially launches today, Wednesday February 15, is operating from Southport and Surfers Paradise all the way south to Robina and Burleigh Waters and everywhere in between – and to make it even sweeter, the delivery is free until the end of February. You’ll find the likes of Lucky Bao, Paddock Bakery, BSKT, Doughnut Time, The Loose Moose, Hatch & Co., Brooklyn Depot, Sparrow Eating House and Honeyeater Kitchen, plus many more on the all-new Gold Coast UberEATS service. Seriously, what a time to be alive.
