We love a four-day weekend, but a four-day weekend revolving around food is something we can really get behind. Stick a fork into a smorgasbord of events and experiences that showcase the unique culinary personality of the Northern Rivers at the Tweed Artisan Food Weekend.


Welcome the change of seasons with an extra-long weekend spent filling your face with all kinds of gastronomic delights at the Tweed Artisan Food Weekend, which runs from March 11–14. The shire is home to a very talented troupe of food producers, growers, chefs and farmers, as well as a wealth of contrasting food-rich landscapes, from hinterland to river to sea. Learn more about The Tweed’s thriving food communities as this very special weekend festival pays homage to the brilliant people, places and produce right on our doorstep.

On Thursday March 11, diners can join the Lolitas Mexican Cantina team as they journey to Oaxaca, Mexico, or take their tastebuds to Greece with a five-course set banquet at Taverna featuring the venue’s famous slow-roasted lamb shoulder. Rise and shine on Friday March 12 with Wave Yoga followed by a wholesome smoothie bowl at Nectar and a tour of the only coffee plantation in The Tweed. Settle in for low-and-slow barbecue feast at The Crafty Cow Smoking Lunch or, if a picnic is more your style, roll out a rug with Christine Manfield and Blue Ginger Picnics for a roving brunch of local food paired with wines from small-scale vineyards around the world. Finish your Friday with a couple of cocktail masterclasses at Husk Distillers. You will want to get a good night’s rest because Saturday (March 13) is a big one with the ever-popular Meet the Locals lunch at Potager followed by a film screening and discussion at Harvest Newrybar about regenerative food systems and a Twilight Fire Feast at Mavis’s. Get your Sunday off to an excellent start with a champagne breakfast or a cruise along the Tweed River for the Minjungbal Cultural Experience featuring local Indigenous stories as well as live music by Goori Guru and The Mangrove Jack. The Pavilions will be hosting a long-table lunch or you can enjoy a Taste of Mur’bah at Johnny Franco’s Place. If a sunset soiree sounds like your vibe, round out your weekend of exceptional food at Snowy’s Seafood BBQ White Party.
