Luna’s Pizza & Bar is one of our favourite under-the-radar spots for a pizza-and-pasta filled long lunches and dinners, and now, eager diners can add breakfast and brunch into the equation. The new breakfast menu, which is available from 6:00 am (booze from 10:00 am), is set to get your day off to an excellent start with the likes of spicy scrambled eggs, delightfully decadent croque monsieurs and ricotta and smoked-salmon toast with soft-boiled quail eggs, cucumber and salmon caviar. The Green Goodness bowl loaded with mixed leaves, broccolini, zucchini, green tomato, salsa verde, broad-bean puree, toasted almonds and pumpkin seeds on a bed of quinoa (add halloumi) is a stand-out selection for the health conscious, while at the other end of the culinary spectrum, there’s a drool-inducing offering of freshly baked goods including croissants, twice-baked almond croissants and banana bread.
“Luna’s has always been dedicated to bringing the authentic taste of Italy to our patrons, and our breakfast menu is no exception,” the venue’s owner Henry Hunt says. As for the sips, you can enjoy specialty coffee, including the venue’s signature iced coffee, alongside juices that can be spiked with a nip of gin, vodka, tequila, spiced rum or whiskey from 10:00 am. The brand-new breakfast offering follows repeated requests from locals (and us), so colour us happy.
Lunas Pizza & Wine is the spirited younger sibling restaurant to the much-loved Sofia’s Restaurant & Bar at the other end of The Oasis in Broadbeach.
