Internationally renowned T’ang Court brings Michelin-starred Cantonese eats to The Langham, Gold Coast

The years of the T'ang dynasty were a golden age in China. It was a brilliant time for arts and culture, considered as a significant high point in Chinese civilisation. The Gold Coast's latest gastronomic wonder reflects the timelessness of this historic period, offering diners a unique and tantalising Cantonese fine-dining experience unlike any other. As of today, Thursday September 1, lovers of authentic Chinese cuisine can satiate their senses at T'ang Court – the jewel in The Langham, Gold Coast's culinary crown.

If the name T’ang Court sounds familiar to you, then you might have caught wind of the concept’s sterling reputation. The restaurant is internationally renowned – particularly T’ang Court, Hong Kong, which has held three Michelin stars for seven consecutive years, and has been Michelin starred since 2009. T’ang Court at The Langham, Gold Coast is an Australian first, honouring the exceptional Cantonese cuisine and standards of its sister restaurants across Asia. Opening today, Thursday September 1, T’ang Court will treat diners to a feast for the senses, offering exquisite culinary masterpieces that are as delectable to the eyes are they are to the taste buds. Even before ordering, guests will be dazzled by the 80-seat restaurant’s interior, which is adorned in luxurious furnishings, contemporary designs and colourful bespoke abstract-art pieces by Australian-Chinese artist, Lindi Li, which are used to represent and celebrate the vibrancy of the T’ang Dynasty.

Howard Lam, director of Chinese cuisine for Langham Hospitality Group and an important figure in the concept’s global expansion, is eager to deliver golden age Cantonese flavours to the Gold Coast in a fine-dining setting. “Our first Australian T’ang Court restaurant marks a significant leap forward for the local dining landscape,” says Mr Lam in a press statement. “Authentic, traditional Cantonese fine dining is comparatively rare in Australia, so we’re thrilled to bring this unique experience to life for locals and travellers, from other states and even internationally.” T’ang Court’s menu will evoke authentic Cantonese flavours using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, with the supremely skilled culinary team doling out a host of a la carte dishes and three set menus. The star of the menu is T’ang Court’s three-part ode to traditional Cantonese duck, which is incorporated into dishes like duck pancake with chef’s special hoi sin sauce, duck buns with lychee and raspberry sauce (and a bump or two of caviar, if you’re feeling fancy), and sliced duck breast and leg accompanied with plum sauce. Other stand-out dishes include sauteed pearl meat with ginger, shallot and Asian greens and spicy black tiger prawn with roasted garlic. The restaurant’s arrival caps off an incredible run of openings at The Langham, Gold Coast, with venues like Lobby Bar, Palm CourtAkoya and 26 & Sunny ensuring the hotel is already a preeminent dining destination for locals and travellers.

T’ang Court is now open to the public. For reservation and contact details, head to the Stumble Guide.
