Ramen, dumplings and bubble tea – get your fix at new Asian-dining hub CHOP CHOP

Newly opened Surfers Paradise Asian-food precinct 8 Street has this week been relaunched as CHOP CHOP. Under new management by The Denwol Group, the street-food hub will eventually be home to 28 tasty tenants, reminiscent of the hawker-style food lanes found in Shanghai, Tokyo and Hanoi. The first 12 eateries in the precinct have now opened – let us give you a taste.

When the precinct first launched as 8 Street earlier this year, it became home to a second venue from Southport’s wildly popular Ramen Danbo, bubble-tea bar Sharetea, Yum Cha Noodle Haus, Touch of India, Sushi Ave, Rice Vs Noodle and Korean Kitchen. The recent re-launch of CHOP CHOP saw another five delicious eateries added to the Surfers Paradise Boulevard-fronting precinct, with further tenants to be announced in the coming months.

The latest additions include Dumpling Mama, a dispensary of fresh and delicious dumplings handmade from scratch on site, as well as authentic Indonesian eatery Bali in Paradise, which is dishing up everything from nasi goreng to crispy duck with house-made chilli, peanuts and rice. Also in the CHOP CHOP mix is Ace Thai (hellooo pad-see-ew) and well as Asian-style beverage bar Fruit Bang, which serves on-the-go fruity mocktails. Quaint dessert nook Hot Cakes House, which handcrafts Tokyo-style pancakes brimming with sweet fillings like red bean and custard, rounds out the CHOP CHOP line-up, with a handful of new tenants expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
