Internationally renowned chef Uday Huja appointed to head Nineteen at The Star

One of the Gold Coast's most esteemed dining spaces, Nineteen at The Star, has announced the appointment of its new executive chef, Uday Huja. The internationally renowned identity will build on the platform left by outgoing chef Kelvin Andrews, shifting the sophisticated dining space into an exciting new phase.

Uday Huja brings a wealth of knowledge to Nineteen at The Star, underpinned by a colourful 20-year career that has seen him head up high-end culinary concepts at luxe Las Vegas hotels The Signature and The Mansion (part of MGM Grand), as well as founding and managing his own restaurant, Marfa in Texas.

Uday, who is also part of the alumni of Michelin-starred The Inn at Little Washington, was most recently based in Sydney under a Culinary Director position with The Star Entertainment Group, overseeing 23 food and beverage outlets, including Momofuku Seiōbo and Sokyo. Building on the momentum of the popular dining space, Uday’s new role at Nineteen at The Star will see him refresh the current restaurant experience, with plans to make it more accessible so the offering is not perceived purely as ‘fine dining’. We’ll have more details about new menu items in the coming weeks – stay tuned!
