Sip spritzes, dance to disco and chuckle with Jimeoin at The Star this January long weekend

The holidays may be over, but don't fret – there's a long weekend just around the corner, and it's time to get planning! The summer vibes will be high over at The Star Gold Coast for the entire three days (January 26–28) so you can fill your long weekend with everything from Italian-style sunset sipping sessions to dance-worthy Motown parties and knee-slapping fun with Jimeon.

There’s truly no better way to kick off a long weekend than with live tunes, cold sips and tasty snacks – so you’ll want to head to The Lawn at Garden Kitchen & Bar on Friday January 26 to for the ultimate sunset session. Local music icon and soul queen Lisa Hunt is headlining the Live on The Lawn entertainment from 5:30 pm – be sure to head in early to secure a prime position as the songstress belts out all of your favourite disco, soul, Motown and RnB tunes, live and loud.

Be transported to the Amalfi Coast at balmy afternoon spritz session, Cin Cin, held at Cucina Vivo’s citrus-themed terrace balcony on Friday, Saturday and Sunday over the long weekend. Grab a spot beneath the gelato-hued umbrellas and kick back with zesty Italian spritzes and indulge in delicious bites, swaying to live DJ tunes as the sun dips over the glistening pool area. There’s no need to book for the Cin Cin sessions – just head in from 5:00 pm each night to sip and snack the night away.

Five-star funnyman Jimeoin is also getting in on the action, with a live performance in The Star theatre on Saturday January 27. His brand-new stand-up show Who’s Your Man? will have you in stitches from start to finish, as he answers burning questions like what the point of your little toe is, and what to do when you forget someone’s name. Jimeoin is in town for one night only and tickets are selling fast – grab yours via The Star website.

Sporting fanatics will know that it’s do or die time with the NFL playoffs heating up – and you won’t need to miss a minute of the action, with the playoffs game live-streamed on gigantic screens at the Sports Bar on the morning of Sunday January 28. It’s the last game before the big dance – the Super Bowl LVIII on Monday February 12 in Las Vegas. Hot tip – if you’re a fan, the Sports Bar is the place to watch the Super Bowl on the Gold Coast, so be sure to book ahead for that here.
