Don your cowboy hats and sashay away for a rhinestone-studded line-up of entertainment at The Star

In case you haven’t heard, country music is having a moment, and The Star Gold Coast is embracing this celebration by hosting two of Australia’s most in-demand country stars to perform Live on the Lawn this May. That's just the beginning of the excitement as we head into the colder months – from disco dancing to dazzling drag, there’s plenty of entertainment to heat things up this season.

Experience the mesmerising vocals and heartfelt storytelling of our Australian country music scene as Rachael Fahim and Max Jackson double headline The Lawn at Garden Kitchen & Bar on Saturday May 25. From her triumph at the 2017 Toyota Star Maker competition to her dominance on the Australian Country radio charts, Rachael Fahim’s journey is a testament to her undeniable talent. Join her from 5:00 pm for an unforgettable performance, showcasing chart-topping hits like ‘Even If I Wanted To’ and her latest singles that continue to captivate audiences nationwide. Then at 6:15 pm, discover the soulful melodies and heartfelt tales of Max Jackson, the rising star from Coonamble, New South Wales, as she takes centre stage on The Lawn. Following her recent triumph at the 2024 CMAA Golden Guitar Awards, the evening is set to be filled with acoustic charm and captivating storytelling, including hits like her chart-topping single ‘Little More Country’ and her latest release, ‘Fixin’ Things’, promising a lively blend of honky-tonk revelry and infectious energy.

To amplify Live on The Lawn’s evening of country, follow your nose to The Lawn’s Container Kitchen – located just a few footsteps from your picnic table – to wrap your hands around flavoursome fare like fried calamari with yuzu aioli and lime, a beer-battered local fish, or a chargrilled Angus beef burger. Pair your spread of snacks with sips from Garden Kitchen & Bar’s stellar cocktail menu, then sink into splendour and enjoy a night of live music and great vibes.

If you’re keen to dance the chilly nights away, Lisa Hunt returns to the Atrium Bar on Friday June 7. Kicking off from 7:00 pm, experience Lisa’s electrifying blend of Motown, soul, funk and disco as she takes the stage, captivating the audience with her infectious energy and irresistible rhythms. If you’re overdue for a dance floor session, this is the ideal night out for you!

Fancy a night of fabulous fun? Step into a world of glamour and entertainment with the Thursday’s A Drag series, showcasing the artistry of drag royalty Beverly Kills (May 30), Hannah Conda (June 13), Kween Kong (June 27) and Art Simone (July 11). Over the winter months, these drag stars will heat things up with an evening of laughter, spectacle and celebration. From jaw-dropping performances to fabulous costumes and electrifying dance routines, Thursday’s A Drag offers an immersive experience like no other. Whether you’re a seasoned drag aficionado or simply looking for a night of fun and excitement, each queen is sure to captivate and delight.
