From 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, more than 500 revellers are expected to fill the Little Ship Club’s oceanfront lawn where there will be live entertainment, refreshing sips and plenty of seafood, of course. Overlooking the picturesque waters of Moreton Bay, guests will be entertained by live music from beloved pop-rock duo the MJayz and thrilling mud crab races from the Bluey’s crew, while they chow down on locally sourced seafood and sip suds from Straddie Brewing Co.
The day’s sumptuous seafood spread will include freshly shucked Straddie oysters, tiger prawns, Straddie sand crabs, crumbed calamari, Moreton Bay bugs, Hervey Bay scallops and fresh fish. Grab some hot chippies, a grilled chicken salad or a Waldorf and pear salad on the side and you’ve got yourself a delectable seafood feast. Kiddies can tuck into classic fish and chips or calamari and chips for $12, or those who prefer a vegetarian option can opt for a mouth-watering mushroom burger with chips.
Secure your spot to this seafood extravaganza with a $25 non-refundable deposit, which will be redeemable at the bar on the day. All proceeds raised will contribute to making repairs to Little Ship Club’s main pontoon. “After a tough start to year with the Christmas Day storms and unprecedented rain for many locals, we are looking forward to giving everyone an opportunity for some fun and to celebrate the best of our region,” says Little Ship Club chair Maria Anderson.
