Miami Block Party is back dishing up a delightful trifecta of food, drinks and family-friendly fun

Following the overwhelming success for its first iteration, Miami Block Party is back, baby! Sip your way through Miami's booziest block (aka the pocket bordered by Hibiscus Haven, Christine Avenue and Lemana Lane) this Sunday April 7 for a mini street festival filled with food, drinks and fun times. Precinct, Hard FIZZ Taproom, Black Hops, Granddad Jack’s and Pretty Handsome are throwing up their doors from midday, here's what you need to know ...

If you’re feeling the post-Easter slump, lace up your most comfortable shoes and hit the pavement for Miami Block Party. Consider this your offical invitation to traverse your way through ‘Liquor Lanes’, as it’s become affectionately known as, with partygoers encouraged to embark upon a wholesome bar crawl for the afternoon. The family-friendly event will have plenty of fun things to keep the little ones entertained, including inflatable basketball and miniature putt putt, with $3500 worth of prizes up for grabs. “I’m a father myself and it’s always the first question of the day in our house: ‘hey Dad, what are we doing today?’,” Hard FIZZ Taproom boss Wade Tiller laughs. “Miami Block Party is for everyone … your children can be outside playing on the inflatable basketball, miniature putt putt or other games, while mum and dad can enjoy a cold, locally produced craft beer, or alcoholic soda.”

If you missed the first one, the original iteration drew a crowd in excess of 1000 people. “The last one was a roaring success, it had such a great vibe,” Wade says. Miami Block Party 2.0 comes at a critical moment with tram works in full swing. “We’re all in this together and the other bars and breweries in the area know it’ll be great when the light rail is finally finished but in meantime, if locals can support us and keep us going, that’d be fantastic.”

Avid sippers can do their own bar crawl through the precinct from midday enjoying one-day-only specials, entertainment from DJs and live musicians, as well as delicious food options and even lucky door prizes. Head along to support your local and get into the holiday spirit(s). If it’s anything like the first, Miami Block Party is one you definitely won’t want to miss.
