You're getting married! Firstly, congratulations! Secondly, here comes the fun part – planning your big day! While some have been Pinteresting their dream 'I do' since kindergarten, others are quite the opposite and haven't a clue where to start. If you and your forever love find yourselves in the latter category, fret not – we've got you. When it comes to getting hitched, the most important question to answer at the start of the planning process is what kind of wedding do you want – low-key beachside do? Something a little more lavish? Bigger than Ben-Hur? The options are endless! We've done the leg work to round up some of the Gold Coast and Northern River's best wedding venues in 2023. 


Cowbell Creek, Austinville
In the foothills of the Gold Coast hinterland is where you will find Cowbell Creek, a purpose-built wedding venue set on a 200-acre retired dairy farm. The dairy no longer produces milk but there are still plenty of cheeky cows that manage to find their way into the backdrop of every vista and photo. Cowbell Creek has three incredible ceremony areas – a retracting roof pergola, a giant hilltop fig tree and a creekside verandah. Farm & Co Weddings, Cudgen
It’s known as the ‘place with the sunflowers’ but now there’s even more reason to fall in love with Cudgen’s Farm & Co. For the first time, the working farm is open for weddings! Say your ‘I do’ amongst the sunflower fields before indulging in a paddock-to-plate experience in the newly revamped restaurant. Blending relaxed luxury with high-end dining, the restaurant is the ultimate destination for couples planning a non-traditional wedding. Although it’s one of the area’s newest wedding destinations, it’s part of the acclaimed hospitality group PLB Group (Ancora, Osteria, The Acre) in partnership with the team behind esteemed Cabarita restaurant No.35 Kitchen and Bar, so you know you’re in excellent hands.

The Tropic, Burleigh Heads
Offering couples an unrivalled ocean backdrop, sunset champagne toasts and Mediterranean-inspired fare, The Tropic is an excellent contender for your dream day. The ceremony and reception are all-in-one, meaning a stress-free day for you and your guests. When it comes to the food, there are a couple of different packages on offer, from grazing feasts to canapes and seated menus. An icon without a doubt.

The Island, Surfers Paradise
If you’re after something super local and convenient for guests, The Island Surfers Paradise is the ideal setting. Osteria, Casuarina
For couples dreaming of an intimate outdoor wedding, Osteria in Casuarina is a luxurious, all-inclusive venue that can take you from pre-wedding prep to party. Kwila Lodge, Mudgeeraba
If you’re looking for your ‘something old’ in your wedding, allow this special venue to be it! Kwila Lodge is tucked away on Boomerang Road in Mudgeeraba on a lush 5.5-acre property that houses one of the Gold Coast’s original dwellings, which dates back to 1923. The main homestead, where wedding and corporate events will be held, was originally a school in Beaudesert, which was relocated to the property decades ago and transformed into a function centre that can cater events for 160 sit-down or up to 200 cocktail-style. The food and beverage experience at Kwila Lodge is led by the Ridgeway Catering Group, which owns and operates much-loved coast restaurants like Little Truffle and Palm Beach Avenue (PBA). Alongside the top-notch catering offering, Kwila Lodge boasts a number of luxe accomodation options to stay in including the Great Lodge, a unique master accommodation suite with a soaring ceiling, original stone fireplace, dining room and loft.
