Stock up on deliciousness at The Store – Palmy’s new artisan grocer

If you appreciate quality cheese, have a taste for cured meats, can't eat bread without a hefty schmear of hand-churned butter and believe that local produce genuinely tastes better (it does), then you'll want to make tracks to the coast's newest artisan grocer, The Store in Palm Beach.

Taking the space previously occupied by Small Stall on the Gold Coast Highway, The Store brings a new wave of fresh produce and local artisan grocery items to the southern end. You’ll find all of your pantry essentials, but don’t expect to see any mainstream supermarket brands. Instead, everything here – from the jars of chutney to the baguettes – is local and produced in small batches, yet remains affordably priced (hurrah!). You can venture into The Store and find everything you’d need to make a meal at home – there’s fresh fruit and vegetables, pastas, sauces, relishes, dressing, oils, dairy products, endless rows of condiments, fresh artisan bread by the The Burleigh Baker and much more … and it’s all under one quaint bottle-green roof.

You’ll find all the essentials (and more) for a spontaneous picnic or antipasto platter, with a wide selection of local hand-crafted cheeses, fancy cultured butters and cured meats for the ultimate charcuterie spread. If you’re a regular at the local markets, then you might be familiar with local artisan names like Grumpy GrandmaTom + Olive, Native Tongue and Byron Steve’s delectables, which are just some of the hundreds of different brands stocked at The Store. The great thing is that these smaller artisan producers now have another avenue to ensure their goods enjoy a well-deserved spot in our pantries and kitchens.

Get over to our Stumble Guide for The Store’s opening hours and location.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Gold Coast dining guide with more than 870 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
