Lift your spirit with reimagined pub classics from Beenleigh Rum’s The Distillery Restaurant

Australia’s oldest-operating distillery Beenleigh Rum has brought its expertise for rich flavours and tried-and-true tradition to the world gastronomy. The award-winning rum distiller has opened its doors to The Distillery Restaurant – expanding on the historic venue’s already impressive line-up of classes and tours.

Rum finding a home in Beenleigh feels nothing short of fate. Beenleigh Rum Distillery came to life after a floating sugar mill washed ashore on near-by riverbanks. With it, the region was introduced to turning the local sugar cane’s excess molasses into rum and by 1884, the distillery was born.

Today, Beenleigh Rum still operates from its original stone building and distills from the same copper pot it was founded with. As local leaders in the region’s growing drinks industry, The Distillery Restaurant was a natural next step in the rich tale of Beenleigh Rum and its celebration of satisfying and soulful flavours.

Designed to capture the rum distillery’s rustic charm with a taste of inner-city edge, The Distillery Restaurant is a full-service 80-seat venue. Its mouth-watering menu serves refined pub-style cuisine and quintessentially Queensland bites.

Expect your go-to pub order elevated with high-quality ingredients and unexpected twists. Feast on moreish snacks and share plates such as spicy corn ribs and sticky pork belly bites slathered with rum sauce. The menu is headlined by porterhouse steak with creamy potato puree coated in café de Paris butter as well as signature beef ribs smothered in sticky barbecue and rum sauce. The crowd-favourite Beenleigh Burger even has your comfort-food cravings sorted, with beef, brisket and veggie options available. Dishes can be paired with the latest seasonal rums and finished with rum-spiked desserts for a dining experience that’ll delight locals and visitors alike.

With a 135-year history of hospitality, Beenleigh Distillery’s latest dining addition levels up its offering to showcase the craft and characters behind its infamous rum range. Located in the new Visitor Centre and Artisan Rum Bar, you can now dine at The Distillery Restaurant as well as try your hand at a rum-making masterclass or expand your palate with a tasting for a complete rum immersion.

The Distillery Restaurant is now open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday. For opening hours and contact information, head to our Stumble Guide.
