Crack in to crustaceans and bountiful buffet delights at Main Beach’s Shoreline Restaurant

There's just something inherently exciting about a bountiful buffet spread that is brimming with all of our favourite foods – it ignites a kind of culinary hedonism within us. Fancy something sweet to start? Go for it. Craving a second (or third) serving of cracking crustaceans? You do you. At a buffet, normal dining rules need not apply and you can let your eyes do the ordering to curate your perfect plate. While we're pretty spoilt for places to eat our body weight in fantastic fare here on the Gold Coast, there's one long-standing dining institution that we think deserves a spot at the top of your must-try list – Shoreline Restaurant at Main Beach.

Shoreline Restaurant is one of those places that if you know, you know. Somewhat of a local secret on the Gold Coast, the restaurant is nestled within Sea World Resort and open to the public, so you needn’t be a guest of the resort to dine here. Like the undulating tides, the edible offering evolves throughout the day, starting with a selection of morning morsels and light bites. As the sun sinks towards the horizon, the evening menu rolls out, brimming with a bounty of dishes from the land and sea including Australian tiger prawns, New Zealand marinated mussels and Tasmanian smoked salmon. Next, you’ll find miscellaneous cured meats, marinated vegetables and delightful dips. The carvery section is filled with a mouth-watering spread of crispy pork belly with baked Granny Smith apples, vegetables, mustard and gravy. Next on the culinary world tour are wok-fried noodles, karaage chicken with Japanese mayonnaise and flavorsome curries, alongside primo pasta and grilled barramundi with chimichurri and flame-grilled rib-eye steak.

Of course, no buffet feast is complete without at least one trip to the dessert station. Forget figure-hugging frocks and too-tight belts because the sweet treats at Shoreline are impossible to pass up – think freshly baked cake slices, pavlova, chocolate mousse, chilled fruit salad and soft-serve ice-cream with whipped cream and lollies. Got little ones in tow? Shoreline Restaurant is family-friendly with a variety of options for even the fussiest of little eaters. The casual coastal decor and live music of an evening make Shoreline Restaurant the ideal setting for any and all occasions.

Shoreline Restaurant’s evening buffet is available daily from 5:30–8:00 pm. Skip over here to make a booking.
