Seafood lovers, listen up! Sea to the City – Brisbane’s Bug and Oyster Trail is returning to Brisbane, dedicating an entire day to fresh ocean-caught fare on Sunday May 30. This year’s edition of Sea to the City will again shine a spotlight on bugs and oysters – forms and varieties of which will be simmered, steamed, sauteed and served in pop-up sites across 15 of Brisbane’s best riverfront restaurants from Eagle Street Pier to Customs House. If you have a fondness for fish more than an obsession for oysters, the participating restaurants will all have other in-venue food options on the day, so you can trust that you won’t be going home hungry.
Specially curated menus have been designed by 15 restaurants in the precinct, all showcasing fresh seafood items – Madame Wu, COPPA, Rico Bar & Dining, Fatcow Steak & Lobster, Customs House, Massimo, Riverland, Naga and many more will all be plating up the freshest catches. The full menu for Sea to the City is yet to be released, but we’ve been given a tastebud-tantalising sneak peek! We can reveal that you can expect the likes of bug brioche rolls, swordfish carpaccio, oysters with citrus foam and salmon caviar, barbecue bugs fresh off the charcoal and much more. Event goers will also be treated to live music on the day and a bunch of breezy licensed areas to perch with a tipple. The food fiesta will begin at 11:00 am and run until 6:00 pm, so you can snack and sample sips until the sun sets. Entry is free so those trawling for a good time only need to bring some silver to swap for the saltwater tucker they desire.
