It was one year ago this month that the larger-than-life Jones & Co Grocer IGA opened its doors in the Queen Street Village precinct in Southport, and we have been reaping (read: eating) the benefits ever since. Now an iconic foodie destination, the store stocks a wide range of fresh, local produce and everyday favourites. You can pick up a pre-shop cappuccino from in-house cafe Mrs Jones Kitchen, treat yourself to some peonies from Rosie Blooms & Botanicals and even nab a cheeky lunch from in-house sushi slinger Little Sushi Co (hello, poke bowls and katsu sandos!). Top-notch cuts of meat are available from the well-stocked butchery, straight-from-the-trawler seafood is aplenty at The Fishmonger’s Catch and fresh fruit and vegetables from regional farms are bountiful. And look, we won’t judge you for going a little crazy for camembert at the walk-in fromagerie that stocks more than 500 varieties of cheese from around the world.
On Saturday October 21, Jones & Co Grocer IGA will be celebrating one year of flavourful food with a huge one-day celebration. They say never grocery shop on an empty stomach, but we suggest rolling in with an appetite as the Jones & Co team will be handing out tantalising taste testers and product samples all day. There will also be a heap of giveaways throughout the one-day birthday fiesta, and Saturday Super Special deals too. Can’t wait? Us too. We’ll meet you between the cheeses and sushi.
