Already known for the oh-so-delicious Brookie’s gin, Cape Byron Distillery has worked hard with world-renowned master distiller Jim McEwan to create an intriguing new Australian whisky inspired by Byron Bay – the land where the rainforest meets the sea. Jim is no stranger to the distilling process, having already inspired generations of whisky distillers, blenders and fans during his tenures with Scotland’s Islay distilleries Bowmore, Bruichladdich and Ardnahoe. After playing a pivotal role in the birth of Cape Byron’s latest spirit alongside Eddie Brooke, Jim and the team are ready to share the whisky with the world.
Whisky fans need not wait to get their hands on a drop – rather, they are encouraged to attend the exclusive launch party at the Bryon Distillery on Friday August 26, or in Brisbane at Blackbird Bar & Grill on Sunday September 4. Guests heading to the event can expect a signature Brookie’s G&T on arrival, some witty banter and cheeky tales from Jim and Eddie whilst sipping a few drams. Not only do guests get the inside scoop on the distilling process, but they can also get their hands on the Distillery’s first release of ‘The Original’ single malt whisky and the ‘Chardonnay Cask’ single malt whisky before they go on sale online or with any retailers in the country. The highly anticipated first release will only be available to attendees of the launch event or those that have signed up for the exclusive Whisky Club waitlist. With that in mind, we recommend you stop everything and grab your ticket to the Byron or Brisbane event today.
