Crikey – The Crocodile Hunter Lodge has opened just down the road from Australia Zoo

Whenever we're boosting down Steve Irwin Drive with the Glasshouse Mountains on our side, the urge to pull up at Australia Zoo for our Irwin fix is hard to resist. Well, now you can park up for the night and stay in luxury while you're at it! The Crocodile Hunter Lodge, Australia Zoo's newest accommodation destination, allows you to truly reconnect with nature.

Our love for the Irwin family can’t be measured, but let’s just say if we were to be adopted, we know who we would ask the higher powers to take us in. If you share our devotion for the Wildlife Warrior brood, then pop on your finest khaki attire as you can now sleepover at Australia Zoo (well just down the road, anyway). Set amongst wilderness and native fauna, The Crocodile Hunter Lodge boasts eight family-friendly rustic cabins (including one accessibility cabin), with spacious decks overlooking the vast bushland and wildlife like kangaroos, emus and koalas. Guests can admire these cute creatures while taking a dip in the 25-metre infinity pool, and enjoying a poolside snack or sip from the onsite Warrior Restaurant and Bar. The Lodge is also the new home for Australia Zoo’s southern koalas, who were unfortunately victims of the 2019-2020 summer bushfire season.

Each booking for The Crocodile Hunter Lodge includes a welcome gift on arrival, free daily breakfast for each guest and a complimentary shuttle service to and from Australia Zoo. Plus, each guest gets unlimited Australia Zoo entry during the stay (make sure to keep an eye out for Robert, Bindi and co!) and a sneak-peek entry to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. While we wait for Terri to sign the adoption papers, staying at The Crocodile Hunter Lodge is the next best thing. To make a booking, head to The Crocodile Hunter Lodge website.
