Gold-trimmed framed images of Marilyn Monroe peppered across the walls, shiny leather chesterfield lounges, intimate booths, elaborate candelabras, glistening chandeliers, and red-velvet bar stools … that should set the scene for what to expect at The Roosevelt Lounge. Earlier this year, The Gennari Group took over the Hatch & Co premises and begun works on the high-profile corner site. The extensive renovations initially saw extensions to the neighbouring The Loose Moose, and the creation of the lavish new lounge bar soon followed. The impressive new venue is a sophisticated addition to the Gold Coast bar and dining scene, offering a menu of fine food, fancy cocktails and toe-tapping tunes from the prohibition era.
It’s intriguing, dimly lit, and very intimate – though, the eye-catching booths open the door for groups looking to indulge in share cocktails and decadent dishes … all under the watchful eye of the immortalised statue of Franklin D. Roosevelt. You can appease your tastebuds with everything from fresh oysters with salmon pearls and salumi boards, through to gin-cured ocean trout and wild mushroom and black truffle ravioli. There’s a fine selection behind the bar, with a shine toward top-shelf spirits, interactive cocktails and high-end wines and bubbles.
