Delightful by Deluxe is an extension of Deluxe Grazing, which was created by long-time friends and Banora Point locals Alisha Marshall and Monique Bathie. Looking around Delightful by Deluxe, it’s immediately apparent that the space itself is an extension of Alisha and Monique’s sunny dispositions. When it comes to the menu, it’s a compilation of Alisha’s favourite recipes that she’s been collecting since childhood. Her family would get her to choose Friday-night dinner, and every single week without fail, she would choose a platter or sandwiches so that there was no actual cooking required. Throughout her travels, she had a book called Sandwich Dreams and would take notes on creations she found. So when it came to curating the menu, the hardest part was distilling all of their ideas, so they went with what they know works from their catering business. Filling the cabinet you’ll spy a selection of freshly made sandwiches that range in combinations, from the chipotle chicken to a tasty BLAT and a prosciutto, pesto and brie. If by chance there’s nothing that takes your immediate fancy, there’s a build-your-own option where you can curate the sandwich of your dreams. Wash it down with a coffee from Sacred Grounds or slurp on one of eight smoothies, such as the popular Juicaaay (watermelon, strawberry, mango, pineapple, passionfruit and coconut water).
