“Life’s too short for bad burgers” is the tagline emblazoned on Burger Lane Co.’s facade, an unequivocal sign that this burger slinger takes its burgs pretty seriously. If the name seems familiar, it’s because you may have stumbled across the food truck of the same name rolling around various breweries, distilleries and events around the Gold Coast, but now, the owners have established a bricks-and-mortar venue in Paradise Point. While the prevailing trend over the last few years has been to go bigger than Ben-Hur, Burger Lane Co. has resisted the urge to follow the herd (with the exception of its two towering food challenge burgers) and has opted to run with the classics and really hone in on quality, an attribute not commonly associated with burgers. There are eight delectable creations to sink your teeth into, including the Bug Lane – which has become an instant hit with the locals – featuring garlic-butter sauteed bug, cos lettuce and homemade seafood sauce. Those who possess an appreciation for simplicity will love the Classic Lane (premium beef patty, American cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion and ‘LANE’ sauce), go ahead and make it a double for just $2 more. The venue’s signature, however, is The Roadie (premium beef patty, American cheddar, bacon, onion rings and smoky barbeque sauce). For those with an appetite for adventure (and probably heartburn), there are two food challenge burgers to tackle including the aptly named Monster Lane, which is a whopping 700-g patty, bacon, onion rings, American cheddar, maple gravy and fried pickles atop an entire cob loaf, yes you read right. Alongside burgers, you’ll find three kinds of loaded fries, hot dogs, Southern-fried chicken, pickles and onion rings. Thirsty? You’re in luck – Burger Lane Co. has a couple of Black Hops brews on-tap alongside Wine Not the Brand pouches and a couple of cocktails made using White Oat Distillery’s spirits.
