Byron Bay’s Temple of the Sun brings ancient European symbology to the modern day

Located in the heart of Byron Bay, Temple of the Sun encapsulates its love for ancient European symbology and contemporary designs to create timeless and unique pieces for modern-day jewellery lovers.

Temple of the Sun has inspired its followers since its launch in 2014. Created from a love of adventure and beautiful things, Yonna Derofe and Darren Gallant use their own experiences and appreciation for ancient European symbology to develop their pieces. Raised in Istanbul, Yonna uses the city’s exotic and rich culture to influence her craft, with a twist of art, nature and handcraft. These inspirations are then sustainably brought to live using sterling silver and 2.5 micron 18 karat gold plating, and hand-finished with polished, tumbled and soft-brushed textures.

Whether you love simple jewellery like the dainty gold love knot Airla necklace which represents unbreakable bonds, eternal connection and self-love or statement earrings, like the Sami set inspired by the ancient Minoan culture, each piece is both timeless and contemporary. The brand also has a love for sustainability and environmental responsibility, so it regularly reviews and evolves its practices to ensure it maintains its vision as a truly sustainable business. You can view the entire Temple of the Sun range online.
