Italian eatery Salt Meats Cheese is putting on a belly-busting vegan feast for one night only

While the name Salt Meats Cheese doesn't exactly scream 'vegan friendly', the team behind the popular stable of Italian restaurants (which boasts locations across Brisbane and on the Gold Coast) is actually well known for its expansive plant-based food offering. This September, SMC's popular all-vegan feasting event – aptly named Soul Meets Cheers – is returning to bring you the ultimate plant-based Italian banquet, for one night only.

Clear your schedules on Tuesday September 8 – the belly-busting Soul Meets Cheers event will be kicking off from 6:00 pm at Salt Meats Cheese Surfers Paradise. Strap yourself in for a tailored five-course banquet of drool-worthy Italian favourites, which have been given the plant-based treatment by the SMC chefs (fun fact – co-founder Stefano De Blasi is a proud vegan). The feasting event will also include a glass of vegan wine or a Young Henrys beer, all for just $49. Plus, if you’re really feeling the vibe, then you can opt in for the bottomless vegan wine or beer add-on for just $15 extra (bottomless booze on a school night? Dare ya!).

Soul Meets Cheers will kick off with a dish of caramelised eggplant, heirloom tomatoes, dukkah, pickled eschallots and basil, followed by a sweet-potato pizzetta with truffle oil and sage. For the pasta course, there’s orecchiette with broccolini, Tuscan-kale pesto and chilli pangrattato, and you’ll also be getting stuck into crispy Brussels sprouts with pickled apple, pecans and mustard dressing. Finally, the sweet stuff. The banquet will finish with a fresh and delicious raspberry sorbet with blueberries and an oat-coconut crunch. Yum! There are limited spots available for the mouth-watering Soul Meets Cheers event on Tuesday September 8. Head to the SMC website to book your spot.
