Since bursting onto the scene in 2016, Parallel Roasters has earned a first-rate rep among coffee purists for its uncomplicated approach and earnest enthusiasm for the coffee craft. The brand’s owners Jamie Grant and Daniel Moscaritolo have been in the bean business for over a decade, so it’s fair to say they know a thing or two about sourcing and roasting really excellent coffee, something the pair is passionate about imparting to their customers. Having outgrown its Brisbane-based headquarters, Jamie and Daniel had expansion in their sights, and, as it turned out, the perfect spot was a little further south than they first envisaged. The brand-new Gold Coast-based Parallel Roasters is located in Cararra’s industrial corridor, just a short detour from the Pacific Motorway.
The new warehouse space serves a variety of purposes – first and foremost as a roastery, where you can see (and smell) the beans roasting away. There’s an onsite espresso bar that offers Parallel’s entire range to suit your sipping preference, whether it’s a crisp, clean V60 pour-over or a fail-safe flat white. The pair have big plans for their new home, which will include cupping and tasting sessions, coffee appreciation events, industry nights, comps and training. Up on the mezzanine, there will be some couches for those who are keen to kick back and smell the beans. The entire range is available to takeaway, too, so if you’re a budding at-home barista, you can come and chat grind size and ideal extraction methods. While we’re pretty spoilt for choice when it comes to preferred sip spots, Parallel Roasters adopts the philosophy that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Here, they take the time to get to know you and your ideal coffee and tailor a solution to suit. That goes for its cafe clients too. Parallel Roasters is all about educating coffee consumers in the art of the perfect sip.
