Featuring bold splashes of colour and intricate illustrations by an ever-changing line-up of artists, PandaMouth is transforming the humble cup into a mobile canvas for artists to have their work seen by the general caffeine-loving populace.
The idea is the collective brainchild of two creatives, Shane Hastings and Felicity Lupo, who are committed to ridding cafes of ugly cups that are often lined with a petroleum-based plastic, so they’re ugly for the environment too. PandaMouth supports a sustainable paper cup culture and has partnered with local supplier EPS Distribution, which shares the same direction in sustainability. Together, they hope to encourage others to follow this vision in a 100% compostable and biodegradable paper cup future. So in addition to being pretty, they’re kind on the environment too so you can feel good about your excessive caffeine intake.
PandaMouth’s second collection features the distinctly dark fantasy work of Brisbane-based visual artist and illustrator Henry Bennett. So far, over 16 like-minded cafes across Brisbane, Sunshine and the Gold Coast have jumped on board to show their support for local artists and a sustainable coffee culture. You can grab a glimpse of PandaMouth cups at Taste & Co. at Tugun, QT Gold Coast and Skull and Bones Espresso Boutique at Mermaid Beach.
