Go from the office to an oasis – Greendays is now open for dinner

We’re always planning an escape to a tropical island, but it’s nice to find a little pocket of paradise in our everyday life. Greendays in Bundall is just that, and lucky for us its hours have extended into the evening so you can go straight from the office to an oasis.

Tucked away behind the busy intersection between Ashmore and Bundall roads, Greendays is an urban sanctuary. Surrounded by gardens, this is a place you can say goodbye to the daily grind in the peaceful island-inspired dining room.

Run by locals and loved by locals, Greendays is well known for its breakfast and lunch fare. We often rave about its green bowl – bursting with the goodness of black rice, edamame, house made kimchi, broccolini, green beans, avocado, cucumber, pickles and sweet miso mustard. We’re also partial to the classic bruschetta with stracciatella, cherry tomato and homemade pesto.

Its high tea has also long been a must-try, boasting everything from lemon myrtle-hibiscus scones to three-cheese tartlets. Devour bite by bite while sitting out in the tranquil pavilion or dining in the private library room with friends.

The high tea is a popular choice at Greendays, so much so that the team have hosted up to 100 high teas in one sitting.

Now open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:00am – late, Greendays has a delectable menu that will make the day just melt away. A few sips of the Lychee Rose Martini with lychee liqueur and rose water or a Kyoto Slipper with melon vodka paired with some tapas and delicious morsels will allow you to forget all about the office politics and relax into holiday mode, even if it is just for the night. When it comes to the night, Greendays is also open for dinner Wednesday and Thursday from 5:30pm.

If you’ve had enough decision making for the day, book in for a three or five-course dinner degustation, which starts with an appetite-whetting amuse bouche, before diving onwards with fresh salmon and zucchini rolls with basil beurre blanc, and a kingfish ceviche with light gazpacho. Be spoilt by mains of slow-cooked lamb ravioli in a roasted capsicum sauce and the pan-fried barramundi with potato-and-leek cream for the three-course offering. The five-course features house-made tagliatelle with trawler prawns, confit garlic, cherry tomato and chilli oil, as well as a Jacks Creek Black Angus with truffled potato galette and red wine jus. The five-course degustation will also satisfy your sweet tooth serving up a creamy Galliano panna cotta with honeycomb and house jam.

Greendays hosts special events such as Valentine’s Day and Lunar New Year, so make sure you check out their website for more details. For special occasions in your life, the team at Greendays are eager to please, offering to host inhouse or cater at your house. Whether it be a wedding, birthday, an anniversary, a baby shower, private dinners, or anything in-between… Believe us, you’ll be looking for any excuse to book in a celebration.
