In a huge coup for The Spiegeltent Gold Coast, Strut & Fret Production House have secured the extraordinary New York recording artist, live concert performer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Joan As Police Woman (Joan Wasser).

Performing live under the Spiegeltent Gold Coast on Wednesday May 1, Joan As Police Woman will be accompanied by bandmates Parker Kindred (Drums, Vocals), Eric Lane (Keys, Vocals) and Jacob Silver (Bass, Vocals) to kick-off the Australian tour of Wasser’s highly acclaimed new album, Damned Devotion.

Joan As Police Woman has not graced our shores since 2014 and we are so ready! Since the release of her debut album, Real Life, in 2006, Wasser’s sound has naturally evolved through six breath-taking studio albums, hundreds of collaborations and over a thousand live concert performances.

Joan Wasser’s musical melancholy has been dramatically shaped by the death of her late boyfriend, Jeff Buckley, in 1997, the suicide of her friend Elliot Smith in 2003 and her mother’s death four years later. She has collaborated and performed with a number of incredible artists including John Cale, Lou Reed, David Sylvian, Antony & The Johnsons and Rufus Wainwright. She’s not an act to miss!
