The 6th Biennial Global Wave Conference is coming to the Gold Coast from February 10 to 14 2020.
The Global Wave Conference is an international ocean conservation event, bringing together environmental and social scientists, world surfing legends, conservationists, and individuals in the surfing and sustainability industries. The aim of the conference is to highlight the growing threats to waves and surfing habitats worldwide, facilitate global coastal environmental and sustainability initiatives, and increase leadership from the surfing community on the protection of waves, oceans, beaches and marine ecosystems.
The Global Wave Conference comes together every two years and has previously been held in France, Portugal, Mexico and the USA. Key speakers already confirmed for the conference include Sophie Taylor-Price and Shalise Leesfield, Bede Durbidge, Mark ‘Mono’ Stewart, Tom and Nick Carroll, Nev Hyman and Mark Taylor.
The 2020 event on the Gold Coast will be held at the Southern Cross University Campus in Bilinga. More information on ticket prices, times and registration can be found online.
