If your cup is feeling a little empty, get a good dose of art and community at DETOUR Street Art Festival at Robina Town Centre from April 3–15. The free 13-day festival dishes up a smorgasbord of live art installations from insanely talented local artists alongside the internationally renowned graffiti artist Sofles. Known for his bold use of colour, Sofles’ pieces are so distinctive that they have firmly set his reputation as one of Australia’s most-watched contemporary artists.
The artists will be let loose to transform everyday spaces into extraordinary works of art, check out the full program and times here. Among the line-up is Luke Day, John Kaye, Kiel Tillman, Gimiks Born, Art-work Agency, Frank & Mimi, Drapl & Treas, Hansen (not to be mistaken for the late 90s boy band Hanson) and Mike Shankster.
Once you’ve had your metaphorical cup filled, head on down to The Live Lawn to catch some live music and kick back with some bites and brews from Malt House and Coopers Brewery. Got little ones in tow? No worries! Book them in for a session at The Mini Art Lab and let them unleash their creativity while you enjoy 30 glorious minutes kid free.
