Superbly directed by Lee Lewis, Return to the Dirt follows 25-year-old Steve, a down-on-his-luck man that’s back living with his parents in his hometown of Toowoomba. Jobless, cashless and desperately needing to save for his wedding, his quarter-life crisis takes new heights when the only job he can secure is tending to the dead as a funeral director – which is not by any means his dream career.
Surprisingly hilarious, refreshingly candid and filled with pop-culture references, this thought-provoking theatre piece celebrates finding your place in the world and the power of personal redemption. The must-see production is also an uplifting invitation to start the conversations we all try to avoid, but really should have. Return to the Dirt is coming to Bille Brown Theatre from October 16 to November 6. Be quick and grab your tickets at the Queensland Theatre website.
