A night with the stars – Queensland Symphony Orchestra brings movie blockbusters to life at HOTA

It's amazing how powerful movie soundtracks can be. Despite passing decades, sounds like the thrilling shark attack lead-up from Jaws, the classic Star Wars opening score and the hair-raising Indiana Jones melody remain instantly recognisable. If you're a firm believer that music maketh the movie, then you'll want to put Saturday June 16 aside to witness spectacular cinematic blockbusters brought to life in a one-night-only show by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra at HOTA.

The spine-tingling From Jaws to Jurassic Park: The Music of John Williams will take you on a musical journey, showcasing the iconic and generation-defining soundtracks of the five-time Academy Award and 23-time Grammy Award winning composer. The open-air concert will be performed live by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra at the hands of conductor Guy Noble on HOTA’s new outdoor stage, kicking off at 6:30 pm.

This unmissable concert will feature an awe-inspiring set list of iconic sounds from cinematic masterpieces such as Star Wars, Superman, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, Schindler’s List, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Hook, Indiana Jones and many more classic orchestral scores from your all-time favourite flicks. From Jaws to Jurassic Park: The Music of John Williams is being held on Saturday June 16 – so dust off the picnic rugs, head over here to book your tickets and get set for a magical night under the stars. Hot tip – pre-order yourself a gourmet picnic basket with cheese, breads, antipasto (yum) and two cheeky glasses of wine when you book.
