Roll out a rug for Fridays on the Big Lawn featuring Mzaza at HOTA

Something big and beautiful is about to land at HOTA and it's called WONDER Festival. The main attraction of the ten-day celebration of outdoor art and performance is the eye-catching large-scale installation Borealis by Dan Acher, which will illuminate the night sky in a breathtaking display of colour reminiscent of the Northern Lights. This October, you can roll out a rug underneath the spectacular sky while you take in spellbinding tunes from Mzaza at Fridays on the Big Lawn. Here's everything you need to know ...

To celebrate WONDER Festival and the bewitching display that is Borealis, HOTA is hosting a special edition of Fridays on the Lawn on Friday October 6. This time around, event-goers can relax by the Outdoor Stage under the enchanting lights of Borealis, with the experience made even sweeter with the sublime sounds of Mzaza filling the air. The three-time Queensland Music Award Winners will wow audiences with timeless melodies brought to life by accordion, violin, percussion, double bass and flamenco guitar.

Adding to the sense-enlivening experience will be a line-up of food trucks slinging tantalising nosh and a bar serving tipples for thirsty folk. There will even be a dedicated kids play space for little ones to run wild in. With performances running from 5:30–6:15 pm and 6:45–7:30 pm, all guests have to do is rock up with a rug or basic camping chair and get ready to experience a magical evening under a kaleidoscope of colour.

The best part? This event is completely free! For more information, head to the HOTA website.
