Luxe cosmopolitan hotel W Brisbane has teamed up with River to Bay Moreton Bay Island Tours for a curated package that gives travellers an opportunity to experience the best of Brisbane City, with the added bonus of an island escape. The awe-inspiring package includes two nights accommodation at W Brisbane and a half-day trip via boat across the beautiful waters of Moreton Bay. Guests can choose their own style of holiday with both an Adventure or Romance edition on offer. The day begins with a car transfer from W Brisbane to Northshore Hamilton, followed by a scenic 60-minute high-speed boat ride to Moreton Bay (we’re told to keep an eye out for dolphins and dugongs!). Couples opting for a romantic day-trip will be taken on a champagne and oyster cruise to Stradbroke Island. It’s here where they will visit an authentic oyster farm, and get guided through the practice of oyster shucking before tasting sustainably-farmed oysters shucked straight from the ocean – while sipping champagne, of course.
Those with a penchant for underwater exploration can instead take part in the Tangalooma Snorkel Adventure, where they will discover a marine lover’s paradise home to more than 200 species of fish and 130 species of coral. They will also learn about the history of the wrecks from and the area from an expert guide. Afterwards, guests will indulge in a gourmet picnic lunch and champagne at St Helena Island. They’ll be able to munch on Moreton Bay bug sliders (when in Rome), Queensland prawns with cocktail sauce, sushi rolls, homemade chocolate brownies and more. Then it’s back to W Brisbane to rest weary heads inside the luxurious Marvelous Suite, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows boasting views over the Brisbane River. Guests will also enjoy breakfast for two at W Brisbane’s signature restaurant, The Lex and valet parking daily. How good!
