With a background with the NDIS and a passion for playing a part in people’s recovery journeys, Curated By Design’s founder Jeremy has also always had a creative itch. After considering the idea of a creative space that dished out the opportunity to find connection, creativity and community for more than a decade, he has now taken the leap and unveiled the brand new venue.Curated by Design is offering a unique opportunity on the Gold Coast, with NDIS backing, for those who want to get their enhance their artistic streak. It doesn’t matter whether you want to try pottery, art, music or photography – the aim of the game is giving it a crack and having some fun. In terms of workshops, the first cab off the rank will be pottery classes, followed by the likes of yoga classes, furniture building, community craft markets and movie nights, as well as live music and art exhibitions.
Everyone is welcome to the Curated By Design space and, although it is just finding its feet and navigating the latest lockdown, there are big plans for the future. Jeremy and his partner Jayden hope that in a year’s time they will be not only running the disability enterprise but also an on-site cafe and design store. With the vision of using it as a platform for creatives to make a living off their art, furniture or crafts, the Curated By Design concept will also offer practical design and marketing skills to participants. Curated Care, the NDIS branch of the business, is also holding an open day on August 18 for the NDIS services and creative workshops so that participants, family, friends and the community can take a peek at what’s unfolding in the hub.
