From Wednesday May 15 to Saturday May 25, audiences will be taken on a theatrical adventure with NORPA’s popular Dreamland production, which was first staged back in 2016. Dreamland has since been reimagined for a new season at Bangalow A&I Hall, with the show described by NORPA as “a world where time overlaps, where the ghosts of our country halls come to life to tell a joyous and powerful story of community, change and renewal across generations”.
The immersive production tells the story of a new resident wanting to hire the local hall and interrupts the ubiquitous hall committee meeting, which prompts a humorous crash course in local history. Performed with a live band, Dreamland tells its story through song, dance and hilarity – and brings the question of “if these walls could talk, what stories would they tell us?” to life in the most clever and wondrous way. Pre-show dinner will be available at venues throughout the town, and a pop-up bar will be open before and after each performance.
Dreamland by NORPA runs from Wednesday May 15 to Saturday May 25. There is limited capacity at each show – for bookings head here.
