Cabarita’s Halcyon House, renowned as purveyors of style and taste, will open its doors to host the art-filled weekend, which will see George Byrne’s Colour Field exhibition showcased at the hotel from Friday May 19 through to Sunday May 21. The exhibition is set to feature photographs from the northern New South Wales region, which were taken during George Byrne’s recent artist-in-residence program at Halcyon House, as well as a series of his renowned topographic work from environments around Los Angeles. Packages have been released to the exclusive weekend, which you can find here.
During the weekend, guests will enjoy the exhibition’s official launch party on Friday, which will be followed on Saturday morning by Style Suite, which will be hosted by MR PORTER‘s Joe Ottaway and George Sotelo of swimwear brand Thorsun. Halcyon House’s renowned restaurant Paper Daisy will host a four-course lunch on the Saturday, where George Byrne and well-respected art dealer Tim Olsen will share advice on what to look for when collecting art, which will lead into a Q&A-style conversation. The exhibition also marks George Byrne and Halycon’s House’s association with MR PORTER’s Style Council, which is an influential register featuring some of the world’s most inspiring tastemakers and their insider travel recommendations and style tips.
