If you love the idea of sundowners that slide merrily into pizza-filled evenings, T’amerò in Burleigh Waters is just the place you’ve been searching for. Occupying the former Coastal Dental Care Burleigh Waters, the neighbourhood venue fires up a mouth-watering selection of pizzas including crowd-pleasing ‘Margies’ through to a summery raw tuna creation topped with fried capers, pickled-red onions and preserved lemon. For gluten-free folk, T’amerò’s GF option looks and tastes just like the real deal (something joint owner Marc Kinvig is pretty proud of) and meat-free mates can sub out the mozzarella for vegan cheese. Accompanying the bevy of bites is a selection of easy-to-drink wines that you won’t find at your local Dan Murphy’s. Instead, you’ll find tasty, unpretentious drops from small vineyards from Australia and abroad. Coopers beer dominates the taps and there’s a selection of highballs and cocktails including a salted-caramel espresso martini and limoncello mojito to sip in the sunshine. T’amerò translated is ‘I will love you’, which is what you’ll be saying after your first bite.
