Given Naughty Bean Cafe’s location at the entrance of the industrial estate on Township Drive Burleigh Heads, it would be easy to assume it’s all greasy chicko rolls and dim sims, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Owner Warren Keogh took the reins three years ago and has gone to great lengths to create a casual neighbourhood locale that focuses on quality coffee and tasty nosh that won’t break the bank. Forget paying upwards of $20 for breakfast, here you can grab a bacon and egg roll and coffee for $10 or an acai bowl and coffee for $15. The menu is designed to cater to the busy workers with a range of seriously delicious salads and snacks ready to grab and go but if time is on your side, take a seat and tuck into a plate of eggs benne drizzled in deliciously creamy hollandaise or wrap your mitts around a big, beautiful burger. The magic mushroom is a popular meat-free option and for carnivorous friends who like their burgers epic, the Naughty Mo Fo is your guy. Loaded with beef, lettuce, tomato, beetroot, cheese, onion, bacon, egg, pineapple and smothered in naughty sauce, it is guaranteed to hit the spot. The brews are by Byron Bay’s Bun Coffee and all produce is sourced as locally as possible. At Naughty Bean Cafe, you get the sense that there is no such thing as a casual customer, only regulars that have made a pitstop here part of their morning ritual. Naughty Bean Cafe is open Monday to Friday so if you happen to be in the area, pop in and say hey, you never know, it might just become part of yours too.
