Belgian-born, coast-crafted – Madocke Beer Brewing Company opened the doors to a sizeable new brewery and taproom on Southport Nerang Road in Ashmore. Spanning 615 sqm, Madocke Beer Brewing Company is the kind of place you can stop by on your way home from work as well as bring the whole family on the weekend. Stella, the venue’s resident Basset Hound, will likely be sprawled out on the astroturfed deck that is lined with picnic tables. Inside, there’s a scattering of high tables that turn your attention towards the bar, which features no less than ten shiny taps – seven of which are dedicated to Madocke’s own Belgian brews. The remaining three will showcase a selection of craft sips from across the Gold Coast as well as a cider on tap. A far cry from Madocke’s humble garage set-up beginnings, the new venue features some pretty impressive brewing equipment, which has increased their output from 10,000 to 180,000 litres per year, with room to expand. Non-beer drinkers aren’t forgotten, there’s a succinct selection of Queensland wines as well as a cocktail list in the works. A roster of food trucks will roll in from Friday through to Sunday and there will be a local charity-run sausage sizzle on Thursdays.
