Unless you’ve spent time eating your way around Nepal, you probably aren’t overly familiar with the likes of momos, sukuti or khaja but Kathmandu Momo House is here to change that. The casual eatery is bringing the intoxicating and alluring tastes, flavours and techniques of Nepalese cuisine to the streets of Surfers Paradise for our culinary enjoyment – hurrah! Embark on a gastronomic adventure starting with a plate of the venue’s signature momos, Nepal and Tibet’s answer to the dumpling. Hand-rolled and loaded with chicken, buffalo mince or mixed veg, the momos are a definite must-try! Love noods? Stick a fork in a steamy plate of chowmein noodles or tuck into some choyla chicken, which is marinated in spices and finished off with mustard oil and fenugreek seeds. Wash it down with a Nepal-brewed Sherpa Beer and you have yourself a mighty fine Nepalese feast. The authentic menu can be a little overwhelming at first glance but don’t be perturbed, the staff are only too happy to walk you through it and help you find something you’ll love. Kathmandu Momo House is open for lunch and dinner Monday through to Sunday and is open until 1:00 am for all of your late-night momo cravings.
