Gelato Messina has opened the doors to its first gelataria north of the border at The Strand in Coolangatta. Offering 40-plus signature flavours including salted caramel and white chocolate, milk chocolate with chocolate peanut fudge and tiramisu and pistachio, the hardest part is definitely trying to narrow it down to a couple. To make things even more difficult, the gelato masters have added a signature special lovingly called the COOL-in-GATTA, which offers a classic take on Queensland summer favourites and combines mango sorbet swirled with vanilla gelato and macadamia crunch. Day in, day out, the gelato is hand-crafted and churned fresh on-site so it doesn’t come much fresher. The freezers are also stacked with edible, architectural masterpieces such as Dr Evil’s Magic Mushroom for special occasions.
