Silk Laundry’s limited-edition 90s slip dress is here to help save the world’s bees

Want to look stylish but also be socially responsible? Australian label Silk Laundry is working towards creating sustainable and eco-friendly fashion, and its newest charitable venture is the bee's knees.

Nearly two years in the making, the 90s Slip Dress with Bee Embroidery is Silk Laundry’s first ever charity initiative. For every dress sold, $100 will be donated to bee-saving charities The Wheen Bee Foundation in Australia and Planet Bee Foundation in the US, both doing their part to help stop bee colony collapse disorder, habitat loss and degradation. Across the two charities, a minimum of $25,000 will be donated to support research projects, adopt-a-hive initiatives and seed plantings – now that’s a cause to get bee-hind.

The limited-edition charity dress is designed with original bee drawings that are hand embroidered into the 100-percent sand-washed silk. The classic design is inspired by 90s fashion icon Kate Moss and will make for a perfect edition to your wardrobe – and help save the environment at the same time.

With only 250 dresses to be sold, nab yourself the cute – and buzz worthy – little number from Silk Laundry’s website.
