Sustainable sharing – clothes-swapping platform Lána launches on the Gold Coast

Sustainable sharing – clothes-swapping platform Lána launches on the Gold Coast

Have you ever heard of a virtual wardrobe? Well, it's a thing ... and you need to get familiar with it. Let us introduce you to Lána. Just like Uber is for transport and AirBnB is for accomodation – Lána is for clothing.

Let’s be honest. Over time, we’ve all dropped a few too many dollars on a skirt that we just had to own, and splurged beyond our means on a pair of shoes that we’ve only ever worn once. Well, instead of it remaining dormant in your wardrobe waiting for that next special occasion, you can list it on Lána and let someone else borrow it, for a fee. Owners get to make a little bit of coin from their garments, and borrowers get to choose from more than 300 (and counting!) pieces and have it for a few days, without having to fork out full retail price. Genius, right?

Lána is a Brisbane-based startup founded up Edda Hamar, who set out to offer a simple and secure way for locals to access quality clothing, from the unique to the high-end, straight from other people’s wardrobes. The innovative clothes-sharing platform, which launched in Brisbane in November and recently kicked off on the Gold Coast, is designed to create a more sustainable future for the fashion industry. Keen to start swapping? Check out Lána online for more.
