Take a look at the blooming beautiful Bud Club

For keen observers of the Gold Coast's latest new openings, something exciting is probably becoming apparent: there's so much creativity coming out of this little corner of the world at the moment. Far from the previous perception of the coast as a brash and – dare we say – tacky seaside holiday destination, the coastal vibes still remain but have infused the local creative scene with a carefree sense of fun and playfulness. One such example is the Bud Club, a dreamy floral haven that's curating some truly different bouquets from its brand-new home in Mermaid Beach.

There’s a hub of happenings developing in this pocket of the coast, from art spaces to photoshoot studios and design dens to plant-lovers’ havens. The once-industrial enclave is slowly being taken over and is now host to some of the coast’s most exciting new businesses. This is the sweet spot that the Bud Club has chosen to take residence, which provides the ultimate industrial-chic canvas for owner Justine to work her magic on. The Bud Club creates florals primarily for events and businesses, opening its doors from Thursday to Saturday for walk in sales.

Stepping into the space is a design-lovers’ dream – from the oversized fluffy sofa to the polished-concrete surfaces and that Gucci floral door. The blank canvas provides endless options for transformations in the ever-evolving space, which has already hosted events and photo shoots. All the interior furniture can be removed for events, with a professional backdrop on hand for photography (with or without flowers – but considering the locale, as if you’d choose without), for photo opportunities during the event. As for the florals – leave your expectations at the door. The Bud Club’s signature style is unexpected pairings that somehow just work – and damn, do they work well. Our hot tip if you’re keen to nab a bunch of these blooming beauties? Get in early, as they sell out each weekend.
