Leather has long played a part in the fashion world, but we’re seeing plenty more alternatives pop up to cater for the growing number of people that are just as conscious about the environment as they are about what they’re wearing. So, what’s with cork? Well, cork is actually the bark from a cork oak tree, which is removed every nine years. The trees live for about 200 years, and when the bark is stripped and harvested, the tree continues to live and grow, and process begins again.
