Get comfy! Foxtel’s new streaming service Binge is luring you into a vortex of HBO favourites

Yes, it’s another streaming service. Though, much like plants, puppies and biscuits, should there be a limit to how many we can enjoy? In the wise words of Cady Heron – the limit does not exist. So, with that in mind, let’s get to know Binge – a new streaming platform from Foxtel. It's armed with a library of smash-hit shows, iconic movies, cult classics and docos from the likes of HBO, Warner Bros and BBC, and it's here to make you want to kick back and, well, binge.

As the newcomer to the streaming market, Binge has brought the goods. So, once you’ve finished Netflix for the third time over and given Stan, Apple TV, Disney+ and Amazon Prime a decent nudge (side note – here are few must-watch shows on those services this month), then set your sights on Binge. Probably one of its biggest draw cards is HBO’s exclusive content – so if you’ve been hanging to have HBO at your fingertips, then this is certainly for you. There’s 10,000-plus hours of content on Binge – think Game of Thrones, Big Little Lies, ChernobylWestworld, Succession, The Wire, Dallas Buyers Club, 12 Years a Slave, Downton Abbey, The Sopranos, Seinfeld, 30 Rock and much, much more. Take a peek at the full selection of shows and movies here.

The subscription packages start at $10 a month for standard definition, but if you appreciate HD then you’ll have to fork out $14 month, which includes two devices. For those that dread the ‘scroll’ (don’t we all), Binge has a nifty feature called Surprise Me! that will give you something at random so you can get watching straight away – and if you don’t like it, hit it again until you’re happy. You can also search for content by your mood, a theme or events, or browse daily ‘top fives’ and staff picks. While the Binge library is set to grow, there’s plenty there now to keep you occupied for quite a few thousand hours. Head to the Binge website for more.
