Departing from the Sanctuary Cove marina, your sun-soaked daydream begins the moment you step aboard Amaroo. Built in Germany in 2014, the magnificent vessel is surprisingly spacious on board with plush couches to sink into as well as plenty of places to soak in the insatiable view. Breathe in the salty air as you gaze wistfully on the mansions of Sanctuary Cove, Paradise Point, Sovereign Island and Ephraim Island as you cruise down the Coomera River towards the Broadwater. If you fancy a little vitamin D, make your way towards the front of the boat and sprawl out on one of the beanbags to catch some rays. Once you reach the Broadwater, you can either drop anchor and have a dip, or continue sailing down the coastline towards Southport – you are the master of your own destiny. Snacks and sips can be arranged prior to boarding but guests can also feel free to bring their own (within reason).
Amaroo is skippered by intrepid sailer and all-round nice guy Jamie Cox. Formerly a property developer in the UK, Jamie decided that life’s too short for a mundane existence and promptly quit his job and bought a boat. Jamie has spent the last few years sailing around the UK and Caribbean but now calls Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast home. Amaroo’s magical half-day adventure spans four glorious hours and normally costs $1800 except, luckily for us, Jamie is running a discount until April 4 (2021), which gives you 15 percent off any half day bookings using the code DGC15% (see, we told you he was a nice guy). If half a day is simply not enough, there is also a full day option for $3000. Life is better aboard a yacht, it’s just a fact. Don’t believe us? Jump over to Amaroo’s website and book a voyage for yourself. Alexa, play ‘I’m On A Boat‘ by Lonely Island.
