Sink into cocktail splendour at this gin-inspired secret garden

Spring has (almost) sprung, and we can't think of a better way to shake off the winter blues than by saying cheers with a colourful cocktail or two. The cocktail connoisseurs at Yamagen are making things easy for Gold Coast locals by partnering with the gin masters at Four Pillars to create a list of vibrant creations using its yuzu-infused spirit - best enjoyed while hidden away in the Secret Garden. Thirsty? Us too. Here's your key to the ultimate sipping collaboration hitting QT Gold Coast this August and September.

Transport yourself to the shores of Japan as you step into the Yamagen Secret Garden and become enchanted by the vibrant origami-inspired creations and latest range of unique cocktails. Inspired by Japan and crafted in Victoria, Four Pillars Fresh Yuzu Gin brings a citrussy delight to your palette, with aromatic notes of lemon, mandarin, cumquat and grapefruit. Seasoned gin drinkers may also pick up on notes of finger lime as they sip on this deliciously fresh elixir. If you really want to your taste buds on a journey, delight in a refreshing mix of cocktails like the Shiro Negroni  (yuzu gin, Suze, Lillet and yuzu bitters), the Shizo Spritz (yuzu gin, Luxardo, shiso umeshu, violette, prosecco and soda), and the Ichimi-Gin Marugarita (yuzu gin, mandarin napoleon liqueur, yuzu juice, fresh chillies, shichimi pepper and orange zest).

If you and your pals are ready to submit to the ultimate gin experience, why not share the Four Pillars Perfect Pairing? Yamagen executive chef Adam Lane has curated a dish of thinly sliced ocean trout with green apple and cucumber oroshi, buckwheat, green tea, ponzu and scampi oil. As part of the Perfect Pairing, you can savour this dish while sipping on the Yuzu Sakuranbo Sour with yuzu gin, chu and juice, cherry bitters and lemongrass syrup. The Yamagen x Yuzu Gin Secret Garden is open for walk-ins, bookings and private functions from Tuesday through Sunday from 5:30 pm. Get in fast, though, these limited-edition libations are only here until the end of September.
