Sip on the botanical ‘buch brewed in the heart of the Northern Rivers

If you head southbound down the highway and venture into the rolling hills of the Northern Rivers region, you’ll find a little place called Ventura Brewing. The Murwillumbah-based brewery has just released its first batch of premium artisanal alcoholic kombucha infused with fresh herbs and botanicals.

For those looking to imbibe something guilt free for an afternoon session in the sunshine, then Ventura Brewing’s boozy ‘buch is just the ticket. The hard kombucha is designed for easy drinking and is available in a trio of delicious flavours – elderflower and cucumber, original, and hibiscus and rosemary. Kombucha contains probiotics, antioxidants, minerals and beneficial acids, and Ventura Brewing’s take on the beverage involves a double fermentation process to achieve a balanced and delicious final product. Made in limited quantities, the small-batch brew is a delightful summer sip to be enjoyed sans-guilt (did we mention it’s gluten-free, low-carb and low-sugar?).

Hard kombucha has been a mainstay on the libations list for some time now, but Ventura Brewing owners (and BFFs) Dominic Hurley and Shaun Walsh wanted to create a unique brew that had a delicate body with a light spritz – some would say, a more sophisticated sip. The purveyors of the bubbly brew have designed the drop to incorporate real ingredients and fresh botanicals, creating a drink that’s not only delicious but is all natural. For now, Ventura Brewing’s Hard Kombucha is available online here, but keep your eyes peeled in local bottle shops and restaurants in the coming months. We hear there’s also a tasting room on the cards too …
