Miami cafe The Henchman launches into after-dark bites and booze

Since it opened in March, Miami hang The Henchman has been delighting locals with sun-kissed coffees, breakfasts and lunches. Last weekend, the venue (an eye-catching double-storey house with an Astroturf front yard) launched into its next phase – after-dark booze and bites.

In exciting news for Miami locals, The Henchman is now open seven nights a week for dinner, and will stay open until midnight on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Regulars will be pleased to know the breakfast trade remains exactly the same – with coffees from 5:00 am, plus acai bowls, bacon and eggs, pastries and more. Then, from midday, The Henchman switches over to its new lunch menu, which also doubles as its first-ever dinner menu. The new inside bar area also opens up at midday – so you can now enjoy a tipple either at the bar or outside in the beer garden, any day or night of the week.

The new lunch and dinner menu at The Henchman features snacks, shareables, mains, pizzas and salads. Settle in for an afternoon wine and a bowl of crispy cauliflower wings, or nibble at a giant antipasto platter of cured meats, cheeses and housemade dips. There’s also a series of simple-yet-tasty pizzas, from a classic pepperoni and cheese to a colourful vegetarian number topped with pumpkin and pesto. The mains, which are served from midday right through to dinner, feature dishes like a rack of lamb with roasted beetroot and fetta, a rib-eye steak with mushroom sauce, and chilli kingfish with greens and mustard cream, while the plant-based folk can tuck into an eggplant parmy (with vegan cheese).

Inside at The Henchman’s new bar you’ll find an extensive cocktail and spirits list, served alongside an equally as expansive wine list. There’s a collection of local and Australian beers on tap, as well as craft tins and bottles.
